Herbs and spices are believed to  help with certain conditions, like, malignancy, diabetes,inflammation, high blood pressure, cholesterol, asthma, pains and coronary diseases  .Herbs, such as basil and parsley, also have healing properties as far as diseases like high blood pressure and diabetes are concerned. Spices like cinnamon have the ability to controle diabetic and high blood pressure. In ayurvedic medicine in sri lanka this spice is used when making oils for pains and aches.

"Studies have been found that a wide range of herbs and spices offer medical advantages. A large portion of the confirmation exists for cinnamon, stew peppers, turmeric, garlic, oregano, basil, thyme, and rosemary.The reason is that in all these spices there is Polyphenols in abundance. Polyphenols is a kind of plant compound, which play a vital part in the prevention of degenerative diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular diseases


Certain herbs and spices (ginger) control irritation and inflammation in the body, Spices like nut meg and cardamom are good to warm up the body.these two spices are good for people who live in cold countries. Also nutmeg is very good for diarrhea and gastritis. when taken with the correct medical advice one may think that there is no need to take pills for diseases anymore. because we know for a fact that even some of these pills also contain spices and herbs.
