We have heard that Christopher Columbus took pineapples back to Europe after one of his campaigns in South America. Pineapples was known as an expensive and intriguing organic product, served only at the most luxurious of feasts.







Today, pineapple can be found in any supermarket and even in home gardens everywhere. In South America, pineapple is not just esteemed for its sweet taste but it has been used for a considerable length of time as a home remedy for many ailments. In fact pineapple is very good for pains, aches, inflammation, indigestion. Pineapple is a rich source of vitamin C, and vitamin C is good for cold and cough. Pineapple can reduce the risk of  age-related macular degeneration. Studies have found that pineapple is good for your bones too.

Despite all these advantages of pineapple there is a belief that pineapple is not good for mothers during pregnancy as pineapple has a strong acid. Ayurvedic doctors also do not recommend pineapple for those who suffer from skin diseases like psoriasis and eczema.
